NEW PROJECTORS FROM BARCO - AFFORDABLE, RELIABLE AND NOW WITH VENDOR FINANCE OPTIONS
Built on the success and worldwide acceptance
of the DP90 and DP100 D-Cine projectors,
Barco is proud to expand the DP series,
with new models (DP-1500, DP-2000,
DP-3000) targeted at a broader range of venues.
These models are based on the Texas
Instrument’s DLP Cinema 1.2 and 0.98 inch
chips, which offer the flawless, pristine picture
that has made DLP Cinema® famous.
True, Texas Instruments’ technology is the
kernel around which projectors from all major
suppliers are designed. But with every
Barco DP series projector, a series of six key
differentiators separate us from the pack —
giving you a remarkable advantage for the
long term

IMAGE QUALITY
Each Barco DP series projector is designed
around a sealed engine, which
effectively immunizes the system’s optical
path against contamination by dirt
and dust. By employing a sealed engine,
blurring and dark spots are eliminated
on screen – thus providing stable and
superior image quality over time. The
image you see upon first installation – is
the same image you see with each subsequent
projection.
EQUIPMENT LIFETIME
DLP Cinema technology is extremely
reliable. The engine lifetime can be
enhanced even further through a controlled
and stabilized chip temperature.
Barco’s exclusive cooling technology
employs peltier elements to monitor the
DLP Cinema Chip’s temperature, transfer
heat as required, and maintain a steady
engine temperature. The direct result is
an extended engine lifetime which in
turn could lower maintenance costs.
TOTAL COST OF OWNERSHIP
In the digital cinema environment, clearly,
downtime and revenue are mutually
exclusive. Barco’s solution is a modular
design in which every core component
is swappable via side access. This unique
feature (standard on all DP series projectors)
lowers downtime and improves
overall service turnaround times. And
modularity has an added benefit. If your
facility switches modes from 2D to 3D
projection, you can simply and rapidly
swap lamp housings – rather than change
bulbs in a single housing.
RELIABILITY
Each DP series projector is engineered
for reliability and robustness – not simply
in the engine and optical path, but
in the basic power system itself. Redundant
power supplies have been a mainstay
of the IT industry for years, and that
feature is now available in Barco’s DP
series. This intelligent system not only
provides electronic security, but security
in the knowledge that your revenue
streams are protected.
NOC COMPLIANCE
The need to monitor equipment in a
contemporary networked environment
is critical to your design and cost of operation
– not only for statistical tracking,
but for error reporting and fault analysis.
Barco’s Communicator Software now offers
an SNMP (Simple Network Management
Protocol) V3 agent that can monitor
your facility’s projectors – locally or
remotely. Reports can be issued to the
customer, integrator, or to the NOC (Network
Operations Center).
FUTURE PROOF
Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI) was a
joint venture between seven major motion
picture studios, whose mission was
to establish uniform recommendations
for the digital cinema industry. The objective
was to ensure a high degree of
technical performance, reliability and
quality control in all digital cinema products.
By being the first manufacturer to
fully integrate a DCI-compliant hardware
design into production, Barco’s position
is bold – your investment is sound, with
a future proof guarantee.

ASC2048 - ALTERNATIVE CONTENT SWITCHER / SCALER
As the ideal peripheral for all digital cinema installations,
the ACS-2048 is an 8x1 switcher that accepts “universal”
input formats, and outputs 12-bit twin DVI at 2048 x 1080
– one of the digital cinema standards. With a high-quality
scaler at its core, upconverting any input format is as
simple as “auto-acquiring” and selecting the desired input.
However, disguised as a switcher, ACS-2048 is really a pathway
to new revenue streams for your facility. By enabling
“alternate” content to be displayed in the digital cinema
resolution, your theater’s role as a presentation facility for
events, businesses, conventions, town-hall meetings and
so much more – becomes a reality.
“Universal” inputs support HD/SDI, SDSDI,
DVI, Analog, Composite, and S-Video
formats
• Twin link 12-bit DVI outputs upconvert all
inputs to 2048 x 1080
• Motion adaptive de-interlacing and advanced
noise reduction circuits are employed
throughout to maintain superb
image quality
• User-friendly front panel provides intuitive
“local” control
• Integration with the Communicator’s
touch screen provides seamless remote
control capability
• A standard HDCP (High-Bandwidth Digital
Content Protection) “decrypted input”
and “encrypted output” path enables
copy-protected content to be displayed
at digital cinema resolutions, while maintaining
the highest degree of security for
the copyright holder
